Adult Cat Foster Home

We are always in need of foster homes for adult cats. These will be healthy, vaccinated cats over the age of 1 year that need a place to stay for a few weeks. Food and litter can be provided by the rescue.

Reasons why an adult cat requires being fostered may include:

  1. Cat does not adjust well to PetSmart and becomes depressed or agitated therefore giving the appearance they are not friendly, however in a home setting they are loving and nice

  2. There is currently no open cage at PetSmart Adoption Center for the cat to reside in but it had to be removed from a kill shelter immediately.

Kitten Foster Home

Kittens that are eating wet food (not being bottle fed anymore) can go into a foster home to get socialization. The more experiences a kitten has while they are young, the more social and adoptable the kitten will be.

Kitten foster homes must have a safe room where the kittens can be housed (spare bedroom is preferred) with food, water and their own litter box. Kittens should be picked up and brushed daily so that they are accustomed to human interaction.

Bottle Feed Kittens

Kittens that are abandoned or separated from their cat mother too early require bottle feedings every 2 hours around the clock. This requires some experience with very young kittens or training from one of our volunteers.

Small kittens must be kept in a heated box with clean towels and fed constantly. Foster home must be taught to clean kittens and help them go to the bathroom just as their cat mom would do. Bottles and formula can be provided by the rescue.
